Alfonso Pedraza-Martinez, PhD (INSEAD, 2011), leads HOPE Humanitarian Operations Lab and the Meyer Business on the Frontlines Program at the Mendoza College of Business. He teaches humanitarian operations analytics to MBA and PhD students and enjoys mentoring undergraduate research projects. His pioneering research has influenced humanitarian and faith-based relief organizations, as well as businesses on the front lines. Alfonso has received numerous academic honors, including the 2022 Luk Van Wassenhove Career Award from the European Working Group on Humanitarian Operations. He has delivered over 100 invited presentations worldwide at research seminars, academic conferences, and practitioner events. Alfonso has edited special issues in three flagship journals: Production and Operations Management, the Journal of Operations Management, and the European Journal of Operational Research. Professor Pedraza-Martinez is a founding officer and former president of the College of Humanitarian Operations and Crisis Management at the Production and Operations Management Society.
