Ben Mills is a senior at the University of Notre Dame studying Global Affairs and Business/Real Estate
His project with the HOPE Lab, "Disaster and Displacement: Decision-Making in San Diego, CA’s Struggling Communities" explores the impact of the January 2024 flood in San Diego on housing prices in low-income and high-income communities. Their work aims to understand how the flood influenced the ability of low-income homeowners to sell their homes at fair prices or retain them and how these trends differed from those of wealthier communities in the aftermath of the disaster.
Ben is from Phoenix, Arizona and plans to attend law school after graduation.
